D’Banj sign to another record label.Mercury Records

Living Legend Nigerian artiste, Dapo Oyebanjo called D’ banj has been revealed by Mercury Records in the UK as one of the artistes on the label.D banj whose recently spit off with is for boss DON JAZZY Mercury records which is part of the Island Def Jam Music Group in the US, is a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Kanye West, CEO of G.O.O.D music record label which recently signed D’banj, is a member of the Island Def Jam Music group. Other artistes on the label as named on the company’s website include: Elton John, Jay-Z, Paul Mccartney, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift, Jennifer Lopez and a host of other popular international artistes. Last week, according to information on Mercury Record’s website, D’banj’s ‘Oliver Twist’ was played every day on Radio 1 Breakfast show by Scott Mills. They called the track Scott Mill’s ‘Big Thing’. D’banj through his official website www.dbanjofficial.com announced May 13th as the release date for his ‘Oliver Twist’ hit single video.

Jim Yong Kim emerged as the world band president,however becoming the first physician and Asian-American to head the post,the market failed to us monopoly in the world bank system. The World Bank board of directors said today it chose Dartmouth College President Kim to succeed Robert Zoellick, whose term ends June 30. A specialist in HIV/AIDS with a Ph.D. in anthropology, Kim, 52, faced rival bids from Nigeria and Colombia. Kim, president of Dartmouth College, will assume his new post on July 1 after the Bank's current president, Robert Zoellick, steps down. There had been a three-way contest for the presidency of the poverty-fighting institution until Friday when former Colombian finance minister Jose Antonio Ocampo withdrew. He said the process, which was meant to be based solely on credentials, had become highly political..
