Gangnam Style Wins Song of the Year at ‘Korean Grammys’

35-year-old South Korean rapper Psy break the records last year as the most watch video online on youtube to have been viewed 1 billion times,On Wednesday clinched the Song of the Year award at the 27th annual Golden Disk Awards, a Korean pop event nicknamed the ‘Korean Grammys.’

The song, released in July, was meant as a commentary on the rampant materialism of today's South Korea - particularly in relation to the Gangnam section of the city, which Psy has termed Seoul's Beverly Hills.
“My goal in this music video was to look uncool until the end. I achieved it,” Psy said of the song, which was released in July 2012.
